Bousfield, Jr., long-time resident of Slidell, La, died at home Monday, April 8, 2013. John was a retired geologist with Chevron Oil Company, a stamp collector, a dog lover, and an avid fan of Slidell High School sports. He was born in Springfield, IL and attended Washington University in St. Louis, obtaining a master's degree in geology. He served as a corporal in the U.S. Army in World War II and was awarded two bronze stars. He was predeceased by his wife of 42 years, Grace Niermeier Bousfield, in September, 1995. He is survived by his children, Elizabeth Bousfield Mantoura of Friendswood, Texas, Grace Bousfield Agnew of Highland Park, New Jersey, Nan Bousfield of Slidell, Louisiana and John C. Bousfield III, of Murrysville, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Twig Hurley Bousfield of Murrysville, Pa., six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Graveside Services will be held at Biloxi National Cemetery, 400 Veterans Ave., Biloxi, MS, on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at 11:00 A.M.
