Lois was born in Taylor Falls, Minn on March 19, 1930. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Robert and Alice Carlson, and brother, Robert Carlson. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Robert L. Swanson; also by two sons, Steven and Roger, and two daughters, Susan Wright and Karen Sterrett- John; five grandsons and one great-granddaughter. Also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Lois was raised on farms near Dresser WI. She graduated from Osceola WI High School in 1948 and after several years attended the University of Colorado in Denver to study real estate law and practice. Lois, with her husband Robert, lived in three towns in southern Illinois, Tulsa Oklahoma, Denver Colorado, Billings Montana, New Orleans Louisiana, and retired to Slidell, Louisiana. Lois became a very successful real estate agent and manager in New Orleans. Prior to her illness, she was an active member of the Ladies Auxillary of B.P.O.E. Lodge 2321. Lois enjoyed traveling. She, with her husband, visited every state in the USA and province in Canada. They also visited Scandinavia, Europe, and Australia. When Lois was not working or traveling, she enjoyed sewing and knitting and was very accomplished at both. A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2013, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm, at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 Gause Blvd West, in Slidell. Burial will be in Bethesda Cemetery in Sand Lake, Wisconsin. The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the charity of one’s choice. ===================
