JOHN M. BOOTS, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at his home 
in Slidell.

Beloved husband of the late Margaret T. Boots.
Father of Susan T. Boots, Kate B. Hess and the late John E. Boots.
Also survived by 1 grandson, James Hess.

Age 94 years; a native of Pennsylvania and a resident of Slidell for more than 
30 years. The son of missionaries, Mr. Boots spent much of his youth in China 
and Korea. He served his country in the United States Navy during WWII and 
received his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Yale University in New Haven, 
CT. In 1989, Mr. Boots finished 3rd in the world for his age class in running a 
mile and received many gold medals with the Senior Olympics.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a memorial gathering 
at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), 
Slidell, LA on Thursday, May 16, 2013 from 9:00am until 11:00am. A memorial 
service will begin at 11:00am.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the St. Tammany Animal 
Shelter, Slidell branch.
