Nolan, born April 8, 1924, died on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 after a long and happy life with his wife Leda Pumilia Nolan. He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Louise Nolan Spizale and step- father, Frank Spizale. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WW II and after that enjoyed his practice of Optometry for more than sixty years. He was a life member of Post 7286 VFW and Post 16 American Legion. He was most happy serving at Christ Church Episcopal Covington as Lay Reader, Eucharistic Minister, Master of Ceremonies and Senior Warden. His other joy was as the fifth King of the original Krewe of Orpheus in 1992, and after that, helping create the Former Kings Club which he lead for over twelve years. Dr. Nolan’s greatest joy was being actively involved in the Cursillo Movement in the Episcopal Church having served as Lay Rector of several weekends and as President of the Secretariat, the governing body of Cursillo. His daughter Kathleen and son-in-law, Richard, were a joy to his life, plus three grandchildren, Christian and wife Sandra, Adam and wife Amy, and Elaine and husband Chet. Christian, Adam and Elaine also gave him six great- grandchildren, Addison, Anna, Bailey, Cole, Logan and Layla. He loved his years at Vision Care Plus with special feelings and regards for Drs. Bessent and Meyer and as he loved called to them his adopted children, Shelia, Dolores, Patti, Tina, Sonia, Amanda, Darlene, Cathy and Frank. Kenn knows that tears are inevitable, but as a confirmed loving Christian he invited his friends to come to Christ Church Covington on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at 2:00 PM and CELEBRATE his life in Christ at a funeral mass and following it hopefully with an Irish Wake at Holzhalb Hall, adjoining the church, sponsored by his daughter and grandchildren. Kenn’s last thoughts were: “Turn off the flambeaux! It’s been a great ride!” I am just “Going Home”. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in memory of Dr. Nolan to be made to Christ Episcopal Church of Covington. He wouldn’t be smelling them anyway. ===================
