A resident of Abita Springs since 1980, she was 95 years old. Mrs. Duplessis was born in Mellen and grew up in Omro, Wisconsin. She graduated from St. Agnes Hospital School of Nursing in Fond du Lac. After graduation, she decided to move to a then, brand new, Charity Hospital in New Orleans to care for poor sick children. She worked at Charity for 32 years and retired as the Supervising Registered Nurse for 9th Floor Pediatrics. She was the beloved wife of the late Leonard Joachim Duplessis. Daughter of the late Katarina Kaes and Valentine Kloster. Loving mother of Robert Joseph Duplessis (Olivia) and Leonard James Duplessis (Cyndy). Sister of the late Jake, Johnny, Andy, George, Nick, Larry, Anna, Kate and Marie. Grandmother of Lauren, Leah and Alexander. "Miss Agnes" was a member of the Charity Crib Auxiliary, The Abita Springs Garden Club and the Abita Springs Senior Citizens Organization, and had been a volunteer for Operation We Care. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Jane de Chantal Catholic Church, 72040 Maple St., Abita Springs, LA 70420, on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation at the church on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. until Mass time. Interment will follow in Abita Springs Cemetery.
