Ellery P. Ferrara, Sr., age 85, passed peacefully on July 2 at St. Tammany 
Parish Hospital from pancreatic cancer.

A native of New Orleans, he was a resident of the North Shore since retirement 
at age 72.

Beloved and loving husband of Geraldine Ferrara; father of Brenda Justison, 
Barbara Blow, Beverly Villemuer, Ellery P. “Butch” Ferrara, Jr.; stepfather of 
Debbie Landry, Mark Landry, and Lisa Lovelace. Grandfather of 12 and great 
grandfather of 12. 

Preceded in death by parents Mitchell and Laura Ferrara and sister Ira 
Barthelemy of New Orleans.

He worked over 50 years in the advertising industry in New Orleans. An amateur 
photographer and private airplane pilot, he served in the US Navy during World 
War II. His sense of humor and kindness were appreciated by all but especially 
by those in many restaurants throughout New Orleans and the North Shore.

A visitation will be held at 1:00 with a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. on 
Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Tammany Oaks Church of Christ, 3700 Highway 59, 
Mandeville, LA.
