JOHN JAMES FISCHER, 73, a longtime resident of New Orleans and a current 
resident of Slidell, LA, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, in Slidell.

Devoted Father of Dr. Michael Saxon Fischer (wife Dr. Anastasia Fischer), 
Richard John Fischer (wife Tiffany Fischer), and Maria Fischer Chighizola 
(husband Jeffrey);
Son of the late John and Claire Fischer;
Brother of Eugene Thomas Fischer;
Also survived by seven grandchildren: Kenneth Saxon Fischer, Soren Michael 
Fischer, Freddie Silva, Victoria Elizabeth Fischer, Richard John Fischer Jr.; 
Jeffrey Michael Chighizola Jr., Ashley Marie Chighizola,
Former spouse of Rosary Brandt Fischer.

A devout Catholic, he will be greatly missed by family and friends for his 
sweet and gentle ways. 

He was a graduate of Cor Jesu and a U.S. Army Veteran.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral.
A Funeral Mass will be held at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME,
1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), Slidell, LA
on Friday, July 19, 2013 at 11:00 A.M.

Friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday beginning at 9:00am.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in New Orleans.

In lieu of flowers, masses are preffered.
