He leaves his wife of 60 years, Sandra (Holland) Hamrick; his brother Thomas Hamrick and wife Reida; his sisters Mary Hamrick, Skip Hamrick, Jeanette Fiebig and husband Gary. Surviving children are his son, Michael Hamrick and wife Kim; his daughters Karen Fogarty and husband Jim, Julie Hursey, Barbara Sansone, Jane Gulley and husband Jay, and Shari Parker and husband Charlie. Also surviving are his beloved grandchildren Robyn Gobble and husband Damon, Ryan Fogarty, Sarah Durham and husband Joshua, Joshua Hamrick and wife Amber, Jennifer Hursey and husband Daniel Kaufman, Brian Hursey and wife Katrina, Nicky Sansone, Amber Sander and husband Blake, Charlotte Tryforos and husband Nicholas, Shannon Labiche and husband Josh, Jonathan Parker, and Rainey Parker; great-grandchildren Ella Kaufman, Penelope Kaufman, Lillie Kate Hursey, Hunter Hamrick, Eli Gobble, and Jack Tryforos. Born and raised in Springfield, Illinois, he was the son of Lloyd and Jane Hamrick, and was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jack. In his early years, Jerald “Jerry” Hamrick worked in the construction industry as a carpenter, draftsman, and independent contractor. Later, he served many years as general manager of Ward Lumber. He formerly owned Hamrick Supply, and from1992 to present, owned and operated Concept Designs, a home design company in Slidell, Louisiana. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. on August 3rd at Bethany Lutheran Church in Slidell, Louisiana.
