LINDEN, JR., of Slidell, LA, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2013 at Ochsner Northshore Hospital in Slidell, LA. Beloved husband of Petra Linden for the past 30 years. Father of Chad E. Linden and Weldon P. Linden, III (Lisa). Son of the late Weldon C. Linden, Sr. and Mary Lou Artelle Linden. Brother of Daniel Linden (Jody) and Patrick Linden. Also survived by 3 grandchildren; Cameron Linden, Shelby Lomax, and Jason Davis (Beth); 2 great grandchildren, Austin and Jordan Davis; his cousin, Erna Linden and family; his nieces and nephews, Dan and Stacie Linden and their children, Brianna and Brandon Linden and Christine Linden. Age 65 years; a native of New Orleans and a resident of Slidell, LA for the past 25 years. Mr. Linden served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict where he was awarded the following medals and commendations: National Defense Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 4 Bronze service stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal with service medal, combat infantryman badge, meritorious unit commendation, parachutist badge, Purple Heart, Army good conduct medal, drill sergeant identification badge, army service ribbon, overseas service bar, noncommissioned office professional development ribbon, overseas service ribbon, Presidential unit citation, and the Army achievement medal. He was a former Firefighter for Martin Marietta in New Orleans and was a proud organ donor after his passing. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a memorial service at The American Legion Post #374, 2233 Cary Street, Slidell, LA 70458 on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 1:00pm. Interment will be held at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA. Donations to The American Legion Post #374 are preferred, in lieu of flowers.
