A native of New Orleans and a long time resident of St. Bernard, Charlie served in the U.S.Navy for five years. His passion for architecture and music were channeled into his livelihood as an architectural designer, drummer and musician. His devout faith in God, love of history and country, and his intellectual curiosity became the cornerstone of countless friendships and memorable conversations throughout his life. Charlie was a loving and devoted husband of 52 years to JoAnn Lamarque, who survives him along with their children Steven (Beth), Patti (Warren) Kyle, Pamela and Matthew. He was the cherished grandfather of Dominic, Monica and Jacob Luke, and Marie Grace, Frances, William “Sam” and Eleanor Kyle. He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Cleo Piazza and his brother Edward “Tuttie” Luke and his surviving spouse, Margie. In addition to his wife and children, Charlie is survived by his sisters Louise (Lester, deceased) Jackson and Henrietta “Toni” (Marion) Ayo, along with in- laws Emile "Bubby"(Kathy), Anthony "Butsy" (Betty), Ronnie (Natasha), Dennis (Maria), Tommy (Janell), Timmy (Pam) and a host of extended family and friends. The family invites you to join them to honor Charlie’s unique and remarkable character. He is admired by all who were privileged to share his company. “Well done, good and faithful servant.” –Matthew 25:21 A Holy Mass will be held at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Covington on Friday, August 30, at 1:30 pm with visitation beginning at 11:00am and eulogies at 1:00 pm. Interment immediately following at Mandeville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Andrew's Village in Covington and Most Holy Trinity Building Fund in honor of Charlie’s love and generosity to their cause. ===================
