Capt. John F. Mundy, Jr., U.S.C.G., Retired, age 93 years, of Slidell, LA, 
passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2013.

Beloved husband for 71 years of the late Evelyn T. Mundy.
Father of Richard Mundy of Pensacola, Fl., and Karen Leland(Mike) of Slidell.
Brother of Donald Mundy of Riverton, W. V. and the late Thomas Mundy.
Also survived by three grandchildren: Shaun Leland, Matthew Leland, and 
Jennifer Leland Harper; and six great-grandchildren.

A native of Philadelphia, Pa., a former resident of New Orleans, Pensacola, FL 
and a longtime resident of Slidell.
He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theatre and retired from 
the U.S. Coast Guard with over 30 years.
He was very active in the Southern Yacht Club Racing circuit for many years.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the
Funeral Services to be held at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME,
1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), Slidell, LA
on Thursday, August 15 , 2013 at 11:00 A.M.

Friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday at 10:00am.

Burial will be in Biloxi National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.
