Beloved husband of the late Wanzie B. Parker, father of daughters Gloria Parker Kingrey, Diane P. Reine and late husband George E. Reine III, and son Gary Lavell Parker and wife Shannon. Grandfather of Jene’ L. Bray (Michel), Michelle C. Baccus, Melissa Parker Theriot (Joey) and the late Scott E. Reine. Great Grandfather of Blake Salewski, Kayla Salewski, Madison Williams, Connor Reine, Mason Theriot, Lexie Baccus and Jackson Theriot. Son of the late Albert H and Corrine Parker. He served 4 years in the Army/Air Force and later retired after 37 years from the U.S. Postal Service where he was the city delivery carrier, walking north Slidell in the mornings and south Slidell in the afternoons. “Bootsie” was baptisted on August 4, 1926 at First Baptist Church of Slidell, the longest living member (87 years) of FBC. He served numerous years as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and was a part of several committees throughout the church. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend services at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), Slidell, LA on Friday August 23, 2013, at 11:00 a.m.. Visitation from 9 am until funeral time. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Donations to the First Baptist Church Food Pantry, and to the Pope John Paul 2nd High School Alumni Scholarship Fund in Memory of Scott Reine , in lieu of flowers. ===================
