Beloved wife of the late Hardie Rogers. Loving mother of Theresa (Tere) Anzalone (Gene), Cherie Bernard-Frobish (Matt Frobish), William Hardie Rogers (Helen), and J. Winston Rogers (Hifae). Daughter of the late Malcolm and Mae Williams. Sister of Mildred Culbertson and the late Eugene Williams, Maurice Williams, Fred Williams, Malcolm (Bud) Williams and Robert E. Williams. Grandmother of Brittany Russell; Benjamin, Nathan and Hannah Bernard; Catherine Crutchfield, W. Joshua and Monique Rogers; Olivia and Christopher Rogers. Great-grandmother of Charlotte Mae Russell. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Jo met the love of her life (Hardie) in 1945 while attending college in Athens, TN. They married in 1946 and spent the next 20 years in Pennington Gap, VA before moving to Covington in 1967. Jo was a beautiful and compassionate wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She had a dynamic personality and never met a stranger. She loved to laugh with others and her unique gift was the ability to laugh at herself. Her antique business, Jo’s Antiques, was well known in the area and fostered many strong friendships throughout the years. “Miss” Jo could always been seen around town wearing one of her beloved hats. She was truly a lady of a bygone era and will be greatly missed by all of the people she touched in her life. During the last few years of her life, she was troubled with congestive heart failure and had been with Interim Hospice Care since January. The nurses and aides who took care of her – with a very special mention to Vera – were very attentive to her needs and respectful of her wishes. Towards the end of her life, About You Sitting Service assisted with her care in a very thoughtful manner. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services on Monday, August 26, 2013 at Collins Blvd. Baptist Church, 1501 Collins Blvd. Covington, LA 70433 at 2:00 PM with visitation at church on Monday from 1:00 PM until service time. Interment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in memory of Mrs. Rogers to be made to Collins Blvd. Baptist Church or American Heart Association. E.J. Fielding Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. ===================
