Jack Welliver, Jr. died suddenly at his home in Abita Springs, LA, on August 
23, 2013, at the age of 55. 

Jack was born in Bloomsburg, PA, where he was a three sport letterman at 
Bloomsburg High School and a member of the football, baseball and wrestling 
teams. 
He settled in Louisiana where he met the love of his life, Leslie Blitch. The 
couple married and made their home in Abita Springs, LA. Jack was a veteran of 
the US Navy and a member of the Krewe of Bacchus and was an inaugural member of 
the Bacchatality float. 
Jack was an ardent fan of the New Orleans Saints and Penn State, but loved 
following sports of all kinds. He will be remembered for his devotion and 
dedication to his family, his warmth and gentle nature and his remarkable 
skills as a home chef, whether it was in the kitchen, at the barbeque pit or 
the backyard crawfish boiling rig. 
Jack was known for his infectious smile that could light up a room and lighten 
any mood. it was impossible not to smile back when Jack Welliver grinned at 
you. 

Jack is survived by his devoted wife of 24 years, Leslie, and his loving 
children Cody Benjamin and Alexis Mouledoux Welliver, who were the light of his life. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Helen Coleman Welliver, both 
of Bloomsburg, PA. He is also survived by his sisters, Judy Shoemaker and Luann 
Welliver (Eli). 

In lieu of flowers, donations preferred to the American Heart Association.

Relatives and friends of the family and employees of G/O Corporation, are 
invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Thursday, August 29 at St. Peter Catholic 
Church, Covington, LA at 11:45 a.m. Visitation at the church from 10:00 am 
until Mass time. 

The inurnment will take place on Saturday, August 31, at 10:30 am at Lakelawn 
Metairie Cemetery, 
5100 Pontchartrain Boulevard, New Orleans, LA.
