HINES, SR. Sunrise: July 15, 1929 Sunset: September 24, 2013 Unites States Army War Veteran. Corporal Hines, Sr., was the Beloved Son of the late Reverend Doc Clarence Hines, and the late Amelia Hayward Hines. He was the beloved husband of the late Mrs. Marcella T. Hines. Beloved father of Mrs. Deloris Scieneaux (Bean I), Donaldsonville, La., Ms. Joyce H. Reine, New Orleans, La., Ms. Jerilyn Hines, Lancaster, Tx., and Mr. Jerome B. Hines, Jr., New Orleans, La. Corporal Hines, Sr., was preceded in death by siblings, Mrs. Ida H. Letrick, and Mr. Clarence Hines, Sr. He is survived by brothers: Ferdinand Hines, Sr., and Freddie Hines, sisters: Mrs. Willetta Harrison, Mrs. Ethelyn Hurst, Ms. Murl Hines, and Mrs. Dollie Joshua. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Post military service, after fighting in the Korean War and earning five combat medals, two of which were bronze stars, Corporal Hines, Sr., was an ordained minister at the Mount Moriah Baptist Church, under the leadership of Reverend Alja J. Meyers. He was a Mason, a tile layer at Flintkote, and a Longshoreman of Local #3000. Survived by 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. A private service will be held at Serenity Funeral Home, 20419 Highway 36, Covington, on Friday morning, October 6, 2013, from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. The procession to Biloxi National Cemetery will promptly leave at 10:15 a.m. Interment immediately following at Biloxi National Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. ===================
