Beloved Husband of Maxine Scharff Dammon; Father of Kirt Dammon (wife Dorothy), David Dammon (wife Terri), Jennifer Rigdon, Chuck Dammon and step-father of Tim O’Hare (wife Sheila); Son of the late Emmett and Hazel Dammon; Brother of Rev. James Dammon and Gene Dammon; Also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pete was preceded in death by his son Dale Lynn Dammon. A native of Alexandria, Louisiana, Pete was raised in Port Arthur, Texas, and was a resident of Slidell for the past 50 years. He earned the title of Professional Engineer and was President and Chief Engineer of Dammon Engineering in Slidell. He was a two time President of The Rotary Club of Slidell, a district officer of the Rotary International, was on the Board of Directors of the Easter Seals of Louisiana, was a past board member of the Slidell Chamber of Commerce, and was a committee member of the Slidell Jazz on the Bayou. He proudly served his country, earning three battle stars as a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran. In 1993 Pete Dammon was awarded the Ethics in Business Award as a testimonial of high esteem and admiration of the members of the Louisiana Engineering Society, of which he was a past president of the New Orleans Chapter. Pete was involved in many activities to foster better government and living in our community and state. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2013, at 10:30 am at Covenant Baptist Church, 890 Robert Blvd, Slidell, LA, 70458. Friends may visit at the church on Saturday beginning at 10:00am. ===================
