Goodrow, Jr., age 91, passed away, surrounded by family, on Monday, October 28, 2013. He was the son of the late Robert E. and Marie Sheldon Goodrow. Bob was the beloved husband of the late Neva Russell Goodrow for 64 years. He was the loving father of Robert “Buddy” Goodrow III (Sue) of Olive Branch, MS, Susan Ellen Goodrow, Russell “Russ” Goodrow (Pat) of Smyrna, TN, Magnetta “Maggie” Goodrow Bamman (H. Rick) of Bartlett, IL. He was the proud grandfather of Scott (Contessa), Amy (Brad), Cory (Keisha), Jennifer (Jim), Daniel (Jennifer), Aven, Dusty (Bridget), Brittney, and Rick. He has 16 great grandchildren. Bob was the brother of the late Nelson, Sheldon, and Joe Goodrow. Mr. Bob was born in New Orleans on March 3, 1922, raised in Abita Springs and was a resident of Covington, LA for 71 years. He was a signalman 2nd class in the United States Coast Guard, serving in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Bob was a proud member and twice Grand Master of Masonic Lodge #188 in Covington, LA. Bob retired from CLECO after 47 years of service. He was a member and deacon at First Baptist Church of Covington for many years. During the last ten months, Bob was a resident of Forest Manor Nursing Home, where he received exceptional care and impacted the lives of all who knew him. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Masonic Funeral Rite at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, LA 70433 on October 31, 2013 at 2:00 pm. Visitation will be held from 12 Noon until service time. Interment will follow services at Garden of the Pines Mausoleum in Covington, LA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of his memory to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, St. Catherine’s Hospice in Laplace, LA, or the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home.
