He was born in Long Beach, CA on October 11, 1938 and moved to Pine Bluff, AR as an infant. Joe was the son of Myron Louis Abrams of Los Angeles, CA and Babette Gottlieb Abrams of Pine Bluff, AR. He was the husband of Elizabeth "Beth" Schlenker Abrams and the father of Jody Gottlieb Abrams, wife Angela Ewing Abrams, and Louis Andrew Abrams. Grandfather of Alex, Abbie and Asa Reese, and Leah Abrams. Joe was a Veteran of the Navy and Air Force, having served in the Vietnam War. He coached Little League Football in Madisonville and was very honored to have a field dedicated to him and to be inducted into the Hall of Fame at the Coquille Sports Complex. Joe was an avid Razorback Fan. He loved sailing and racing in Lake Pontchartrain and along the Gulf coast. Joe was a CRNA, working at ST. Tammany Parish Hospital for 29 years. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Memorial Service Sunday, January 19, 2014 at 2:00 PM at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Inc., 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until service time. Please wear red. Internment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Madisonville Youth Boosters Football Program, c/o Coquille Sports Complex, 13505 Hwy 1085, Covington, La 70433. ===================
