She was a native of New Orleans, a resident of Chalmette for fifty two years, and resided in Pearl River for her final years. Beloved wife of the late George Joseph Albert for 63 years. Loving mother of Sherin Colombo (husband Anthony) and Rosemary Moity (husband Steve). She was preceded in death by her parents John Henry Carreras and Cecilia Williamson Carreras. Sister of Mildred Frazier and the late Lorraine Bouterie, John Carreras, Raymond Carreras, Ethel Holland, Ursula Kaupp, and Clara Fernandez. Devoted grandmother of Anthony Colombo, III (wife Jamie Ragas), Brandon Colombo (wife Jennifer Couvillion), Michelle Moity Martrain, and Stephen Moity, Jr. (wife of Megan Maraia). She is survived by 8 great grandchildren, Kyle, Jacob, Emily, and Micah Colombo, Alex and Abigail Martrain, and Parker and Cooper Moity. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to express gratitude to the Notre Dame Hospice Group, staff of Greenbriar Nursing Home and Slidell Memorial Hospital ICU, CCU, Telemetry and Rehab for their dedicated service. Also, the family would like to express gratitude to the staff of Summerfield Assisted Living Community where she enjoyed her final years. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 66192 St. Mary Drive, Pearl River, LA 70452 on Friday, November 15, 2013 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. A funeral mass will be held at noon. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery #1 on Canal Street in New Orleans, LA.
