He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend Stacey Mequet, his four children, Robin Mequet Albert (Henry), Rachel Mequet Miller (William), Daniel Robert Mequet (Missy) and Rebecca Bea Mequet and his father in law, Martin Gurney. He adored his eight perfect grandchildren; Caleb, Kylie, Kate, Avery, Joel, Isaac, Anna Joy, and Simon. He is also survived by his sisters; Joya Taylor (Richard), Suzanne Brantley (George), and Suzette Bowman (Kirk) and many wonderful nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Robert Mequet, Sr. and Edna Gilley Mequet. Rip’s passion was to serve God, his family and others. He did it well, with integrity and devotion and he will be greatly missed. It was an honor for him to serve as a men’s small group leader at Church of the King leaving a lasting legacy. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at Church of the King, 22205 Little Creek Rd. Mandeville, LA 70471 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow. In Lieu of flowers, donations to the “My Church” building fund at Church of the King will honor Rip’s memory. Arrangements have been entrusted to E.J.
