Beloved Husband of Sharon Renee’ Mancini for the past 32 years; Father of Richard Mancini, Jr (wife Melissa), and Michelle Renee’ Mancini; Son of Thomas and Theresa Periera Mancini; Brother of Carol Maratea, Tom Mancini, Larry Mancini, and James Mancini; Loving grandfather of Braden and Spencer Mancini; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, great friends, and his rescued “granddogger” Isabelle. Richard was originally from New York. Having moved to New Orleans at the age of 15, his life was anchored by his strong beliefs in truth, love, and honor. He enjoyed making others happy through his passion for cooking, music, and fellowship. Richard was an avid LSU Tiger fan. He was a Third Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus, St. Luke Council #9973, and an outstanding member of the Krewe of Thoth. Richard devoted his life to his family and found fulfillment through his strong Catholic faith. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the following services: Visitation will be held at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), Slidell, LA on Thursday, January 2, 2014, from 5:00pm until 9:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church, 910 Crossgates Blvd, in Slidell on Friday, January 3, 2014, at 10:00am. Friends may visit at the church on Friday beginning at 9:30am. Burial will follow at Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery, 1157 Carmel New Hope Rd, in Monticello, MS at 2:00pm. The Carmel Community is very special to our family and has always been a place of peaceful retreat.
