Alexander, Jr., passed away peacefully at Ferncrest Manor in New Orleans, LA on Sunday, January 12, 2014. was born on January 24, 1935 to Mr. O.B. Alexander and Ms. Gilda Ruth Davenport of Covington, LA. The beloved husband of the late Mamie Lee Alexander. He is survived by his daughter Vickey Thomas (Rickey) and six sons; Raymond Alexander (Elyouna), Otis B. III (Phyllis), Vincent (Rene), Patrick (Jeanne), Rodney (Tanya), and Adam, Sr., (Lovelta); 25 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by seven sisters: Rutha Mae Garrett, Rosie Mary Farbe, Zora Lee Abbot, Patricia Burton, Carol Lois Johnson, Willie Mae Bradford, Linda Baham and nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his lovely wife, Mrs. Mamie Lee Bell Alexander; one daughter, Brenda Bell; two sisters, Yvonne Crockett and Brenda Alexander and two brothers, Rudolph Alexander, Sr. and Freddie Joe Alexander. He served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956 and was Honorably released from his active duty. He went on to work at Letsch Pontiac GMC for 25 years, Fritz Culver, Inc., and Wal-Mart where he later retired. He was a lifelong member at Doughty Chapel AME Church in Covington, was a friend to all and an enemy of none. The family would like to send a warm thank you to all of the doctors, nurses, and all the medical institutes who took special care of him the last few years of his life. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Doughty Chapel AME Church, 623 N. Lee Rd., Covington, LA 70433. Visiting hours will begin at 10:00 AM. Interment at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Covington will follow services. Repast at Doughty Chapel AME Church. ===================
