Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/sttammany/obits/dateobits/2014/st1401.htm and click to view list of photos. ========== Lawrence “Larry” Emile Hartman passed away in Mandeville, LA on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at the age of 75 after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. Larry was born to Henry William Joseph and Antoinette Henrietta Haro Hartman in New Orleans, LA. He was the beloved husband of Margaret Bennett Hartman. He was the loving father of Michael L. Hartman, Adrienne H. Gilliland, Kristen H. Soehnlein, and Wendy B. Treadway. He will be missed by his grandchildren, Tanya M. Gilliland, Angelle E. Gilliland, Gillian E. Treadway, Abigail M. Soehnlein, and Cooper J. Treadway and his great-grandchildren, Timothy C. Huhn and Trinity R. Barrios. He was the brother of Althea L. Bosche, James J. Hartman, Eleanor A. Dunlop, Albert P. Hartman, Elise B. Smith, the late Henry W. Hartman, Margaret K. Orgeron, Stanley I. Hartman, Jenny C. Lutrell, and Rose V. Payne. Larry served as a member of the United States Army National Guard for 8 years. He attained the rank of Sergeant and was Special Forces Green Beret. Larry worked as a Communications Technician for Shell Oil Company for 30 years. During his time at Shell, he moved his family to Douala, Cameroon in West Africa for 3 years with Shell Pecten International. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #6870 in Terrytown, LA where he served as Grand Knight in 1999. After moving to the Northshore in 2004, he became a Fourth Degree Knight and Faithful Comptroller with the Rev. Harry J. Tompson, S.J. Assembly in Mandeville, LA. Larry loved to fish, play volleyball, and tinker with anything whether it needed fixing or not. He was also an avid Saints fan. Larry was a devoted family man, and his grandchildren were his pride and joy. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Monday, January 13, 2014 at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 20370 Smith Rd., Covington, LA 70435 at 12:00 Noon with visitation AT THE CHURCH from 10:00 AM until service time. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, 2280 W. 21st Ave., Covington, LA 70433. In lieu of flowers, the family requests Masses at St. Benedict Catholic Church. ===================
