Reverend Charles Gerald "Jerry" McCarty, D.D. passed away on Friday, January 
31, 2014 in Covington, LA. 
He was born Monday, December 21, 1936 in Meridian, MS to Charles Evans and 
Myrtle Boyd McCarty and lived in Wichita Falls, TX until moving to Louisiana in 
the 1950's.

The beloved father of three daughters - Kathleen Elizabeth McCarty, Sarah 
McCarty Chaiban and Virginia McCarty Saunders and is survived by one sister – 
Elizabeth Salles; his brother - Robert McCarty; five grandchildren - Michael 
Donovan Carty, Molly Elizabeth and Noah Cole Chaiban, Boyd McCarty Saunders and 
Charles Robert Saunders. He held close to his heart and cared deeply for his 
niece and nephew, Elise Schell and Michael LaFrance. His parents preceded him 
in death.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend memorial services at 12:00 Noon on 
Friday, February 7, 2014 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave. 
Covington, LA 70433.

Visiting hours will begin Friday at 10:00 AM.

Committal services will be held privately at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Tammany Humane Society
