She was born on Tuesday, December 20, 1932 in Breckenridge, TX. Lynn was the beloved mother of Brenda Nuss Read (Tom), Bruce Nuss (Susan), Nancy Nuss Ferger (Henry), Sharon Nuss Meilleur (Chris) and son-in-law Jeff Marion. She was the proud and devoted grandmother of 12 grandchildren: Thomas Read, Lauren Read Jackson, Andrew Marion, Zachary and Gabrielle Ferger, Reid and Elizabeth Nuss, Julian and Jacob Meilleur, and Justin and Aimee Nuss. She is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren. She was the loving sister of James Patterson, USAF Lt. Col. retired (Linda) of San Antonio, TX. Lynn was predeceased by her father Joe Milton Patterson, mother Mary Belle Patterson, son Robert Nuss, Jr., daughter Susanne Nuss Marion, grandson Jared Nuss, and former husband Robert “Bobby” Nuss, Sr. Lynn was a dedicated nurse, beginning her career at Lakeside Hospital and working in Labor and Delivery for 36 years, most recently at St. Tammany Hospital where she retired as a Hospice Nurse in 2004. Throughout her career, she developed close relationships with the patients and families she cared so deeply for. Lynn was famously direct and unwavering in her preferences. She “told it like it was” for 81 years while managing to be compulsively generous, compassionate and endearing to all those in her life. Lynn loved to cook for others, was an avid reader (especially mystery novels and cook books). She loved art, the birds that visited her feeder and her favorite flowers, Texas Bluebonnets. She will be sadly missed by all. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Liturgy of the Word on Monday, January 20, 2014 at 12:00 Noon at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433. Visitation will take place from 10:00 AM until service time.
