She was born in Diaz, AR on October 18, 1926, the daughter of Perry and Lennie (Young) Mathis. She was the beloved wife of the late Cleveland M. Adair and the mother of one son, Robert Lester Adair Sr. of Russellville, AR. She leaves behind her sisters, Betty Pollock of Arlington, TX and Peggy Brown of Ft. Worth, TX, her daughter-in-law Connie Adair, three grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Perry Jr., James, Walter (Pinto), and Sammy Mathis, and her sisters Elizabeth, Sue Goodwin, and Patsy James. Her husband Cleveland had a full career in the US Air Force and Margaret was at his side, the two enjoyed many life-long friends and the camaraderie that the service provided. She loved to cook and many of her specialties were widely appreciated by her circle of friends, especially her baking, but nothing can compare to her chicken and dumplings. Her entire family, including her brothers and sisters' families, were very dear to her throughout her life. She and Cleveland settled down in Slidell, LA in 1964, after he retired from the military. She preferred to stay close to the house but Friday nights were the exception, for many years she and Cleve would be found surrounded by friends at Miss Macs (aka Kelly's Catfish Corner) on the Slidell lakefront. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew her. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Graveside Services at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 1751 Gause Blvd.,West, Slidell, LAon Friday, February 14, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. Donations to the Russellville Hospice, preferred, in lieu of flowers. ===================
