Born in Washburn, ND on the Missouri River, he is survived by his wife, Sharon Howes; daughter, Katie (Hagen) Jacobson; sons Barry Hagen and Michael Hagen; and Pekingese dog ÒMiss Martha.Ó He was a high school all-star athlete, radio announcer, deck hand, college professor, loving father and grandfather. He loved reading and learning. He earned two masters degrees (Oregon St and San Francisco St) and a PhD (Florida St). He died peacefully of natural causes at his Slidell home of 24 yrs. Memorial services will be held in CA and FL later this Spring, and his ashes will be interred in Hensler, ND. His Grandma Lottie would have said, ÒWellÉ finally Dean is moving back to North Dakota!Ó A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at the Tammy Yacht Club in Slidell on Thurs, February 27th from 5:30-8:30pm. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Slidell Animal Assistance League or WWOZ Radio Station would be appreciated. ===================
