HAKE, NANCY 
July 3, 1942  -  February 9, 2014

Nancy Ileen Hake, 71, formerly of Springfield, IL died at her home in Slidell, 
LA February 9, 2014, after a long illness.

She was born July 3, 1942 in Springfield, where she attended Lanphier High 
School. 
After graduation, she began working for the Illinois Department of Insurance 
where she remained until she moved to Slidell, LA, in 1989.

An avid reader, Nancy loved working at her computer and her iPad. She delighted 
in her children and grandchildren, in keeping up with old friends, searching 
for antiques and cooking. 
Family and friends alike will sorely miss her intelligence, her spirit and 
integrity, and loving kindness.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Wicks and Ileen Wicks 
Mattson; a brother, Billy Wicks; and a son Mark Edmiston. Surviving are her 
husband, Richard Hake, Slidell, LA; a son, Todd Edmiston (Julie), Mandeville, 
LA; a sister, Kay Loveless, Springfield, IL; brother Edward Wicks (Judy), 
Lakebay, WA; daughter-in-law Kim Edmiston, Sherman, TX; and grandchildren 
Kathryn Edmiston, Springfield, IL; and Brianne Edmiston, Mandeville, LA; and 
several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation: 10-11:30 am Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service 11:30 am Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Staab Funeral Home with 
Marty Morris officiating. 

Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
