Heigle, Jr, age 91, on Sunday, February 2, 2014, went to be with his Lord and Saviior, while surrounded by his loving wife and family. Jake was preceded in death by his parents: Jacob S. Heigle and Margaret Hennessey Heigle; brothers: Edward, Leo, James, and Paul Heigle, and sisters: Camille Hernandez, and Miriam Zimmerman. He is also preceded in death by his first wife Elaine Williams Heigle, son-in-law Louis Servary, and one great- grandson Dacoda Heigle. Jake is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 57 years, Betty Bachmin Heigle; eight children: Elaine, Jacob, William (Chris), Timothy (Reba), James (Nora), Frank, Anita (Billy), and Linda; a sister: Shirley Heigle Betz; sisters-in-law: Shirley Heigle and Sandra Heigle; twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Jake was a native Orleanian. He moved to Slidell after Hurricane Katrina. He served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Pensacola during World War II and saw many major battles in the Pacific. He enjoyed bowling and going on trips with friends. He was a member of AARP chapter #4716 and the Happy Hour Club. The family would like to thank his nurse, aide and spiritual advisor of Notre Dame Hospice for their loving and kind care. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 8, 2014, at 1:00pm, at St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 910 Crossgates Blvd, Slidell LA 70461. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 11:00am until service time. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Slidell. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Notre Dame Hospice or Childrens Hospital. ===================
