It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Lurlean ÒMickieÓ 
Mickenheim Houk announce her passing on Wednesday, February 5, 2014, following 
a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, Mickie 
enjoyed spending her days surrounded by those she loved. Not one to shy away 
from hard work, she served as a loyal employee of Dr. Robert Grieshaber of the 
Dermatology Clinic of St. Tammany for 26 years.

She is survived by her four sons, Travis, Stephen, Paul, Chuck and his wife 
Suzunne, as well as her only daughter, Laurie Aydell, ten grandchildren, 
including Blaine Houk, Christina Cummings and Lauren Houk, Daniel Polen, Chas 
and Tyler Houk, Kaitlyn and Ben Houk, and Preston and Alex Aydell as well as 
several great grandchildren, and her special nieces and nephews.

She will be greatly missed by her family and countless friends, including her 
lifelong friend, Hilda Champagne.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Preston T. Houk Sr, 
her mother and father, Adelaide B. Mickenheim and Herman Lawrence Mickenheim, 
and her sister, Rita Mae Mickenheim Correa all of Abita Springs, LA.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral mass at 11:00 AM on 
Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at St. Jane de Chantal Catholic Church, 72040 Maple 
St. Abita Springs, LA 70420.

A wake is scheduled to take place on Monday, February 10th from 6-9 PM at E.J. 
Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433.

Visitation at the Church Tuesday will begin at 9:30 AM.

Interment at the Abita Springs Cemetery will immediately follow mass.
