Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/sttammany/obits/dateobits/2014/st1402.htm and click to view list of photos. ========== Earl Joseph ÒJayÓ LaCoste Jr., a retired Operating Engineer and a long time supervisor for the B & G Crane Service of New Orleans, Mr. Earl Joseph ÒJayÓ LaCoste Jr. of Slidell passed away February 11, 2014 in Hammond, LA. Mr. LaCoste was born July 22, 1925 in Morganza, LA. He was 88. Mr. LaCoste was a decorated WWII combat veteran having served with the Seabees, the Construction Brigade, of the U.S. Navy in the Pacific theater, most notably the Philippine Islands. Mr. LaCoste was a member and a deacon of First Baptist Church, Slidell, LA and Bob SandiferÕs Heritage Sunday School Class. Mr. LaCoste was preceded in death by his parents, Macy and Earl J. LaCoste, Sr and his brother Barry LaCoste, all of Pearl River, LA. He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Elaine, of Slidell, LA; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Lonnie Wascom of Hammond, LA and Cynthia and John James of Baton Rouge, LA; two sisters, Edrel Pichon of Slidell, LA and Shirley Delaughter of Lacombe, LA; three grandchildren, Laura Dalton-Briscoe of Austin, TX, Lane LaCoste Wascom of Hammond, LA and Adelaide James of Baton Rouge, LA; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are nephews Guy LaCoste, Kirby Craddock, Richard Pichon, John Pichon, Jeff Montz, and grandson, Lane LaCoste Wascom and John James. Anytime a family member or friend would say, ÒI love you,Ó to Mr. LaCoste, his reply was always the same, ÒI love you. God is love.Ó Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Services at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST, Slidell, LA on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. Interment in FOREST LAWN CEMETERY. Visitation on Saturday after 11:00 A.M. until funeral time. Dr. Lonnie Wascom, officiating.
