He was born on Tuesday, April 8, 1941 in New Orleans to Edward Louis, Sr. and Evelyn Lebrun Balser and was a resident of Madisonville since 1998. A devoted husband for 53 years, Eddie was truly cherished by his wife - Sandra Menant Balser. A loving father, grandfather and brother, he is survived by three daughters - Kimberly M. Balser, Michelle B. Lawrence and Carrie B. Rotherham; three grandchildren - Samantha Y. Sevin, Benjamin J. and Bradley W. Rotherham; two sisters - Helen B. Everhardt and Lori B. Zanca and four brothers - Ronald J., Michael S., David W. and Paul K. Balser. He will be dearly missed by many loving nieces and nephews. His parents preceded him in death. Eddie was a hard-working, family man. He and his wife raised their family in Metairie, LA for most of his career. After 18 brilliant years with Bellsouth Communications, he retired to help to start the Boe-Tel Company. This venture was very close to his heart and he considered all its employees to be like a family to him. Relatives, all past and present devoted employees of Boe-Tel Company and his many dear friends are invited to attend a memorial mass at 11:30 AM on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave. Covington, LA 70433. Visiting hours on Thursday will begin at 9:30 AM. The Balser family would like to express sincere appreciation to the staff and medical team at St. Catherine Hospice for their kindness and their vigilance in providing such excellent care in these last few months.
