She was a 40-year resident of Slidell and parishioner of St. Margaret Mary Church. She was born in Volga, South Dakota, attended Bruce High School and Brookings High School, and graduated cum laude from South Dakota State University in Brookings, in 1962. Shortly thereafter, she settled in Denver, Colorado where she began her life as a devoted mother of four children: Joy Lynne (Russell), Jon Todd (Paula), Dara Lee (Robert), and Larry Sean. In 1973 the HansenÕs moved to Slidell where she resided until her death. Always lively and loving to her children and grandchildren, she loved the local music, culture, food and arts, and was active in the community as one of the founding parents of Hurricane Swim Club, and a participant in Slidell WomenÕs Civic Club and Slidell Newcomers. She studied at Tulane University, earning a degree in Paralegal Studies in 1981. She is preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Hazel Langland, and her sisters Mary Anne, Carol Jean, and Jeanette Yvonne. She is survived by her children and her five grandchildren, Johann Castro, Jordan Hansen, Jacob Mason, Julia Hansen, and Jessica Mason, as well as her siblings Dennis (Vivian) Langland, Kathy (Doug) Voss, and Mark Langland. She is also survived by a host of loving nieces, nephews and cousins. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at 12:00 noon, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 1050 Robert Blvd, Slidell LA. Friends may visit at the church on Saturday beginning at 10:00am. ===================
