Vinti passed away on Friday, March 14, 2014 at Serenity Senior Residence, Metairie, LA at the age of 90. Served in the US Army and a veteran of the Korean war. Born in New Orleans and lived in Abita Springs for 40 years. Employed by Pan American Life and retired from Schenley Industries with over 30 years of service. Also worked at Abita Springs Country Club. A graduate of St. Aloysius High School and Southwestern Louisiana University. A longtime member of the Knights of Columbus. Former Alderman and Mayor of Abita Springs. He had a passion for family and friends, golf and his church. He loved going out to eat with his friends after Saturday mass. Preceded in death by his beloved wife Joyce Tassin Vinti. Devoted Father of Debra Smith (Michel), Lee Vinti (Brenda), Margaret V. Royerre (Al), Robin Vinti (Debie) and the late Dino Vinti. Brother of Marie Vinti Reboul and the late Alexander F. Vinti, Pascal Vinti, Domenica Vinti Romano. Grandfather of Stacy, Kelly, Michael, Christopher, Dustin, Desiree, Matthew, Megan, Micah, Daniel and Ashley. Also survived by 8 great grandchildren. Survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Beloved friend and companion of Beverly Westcott for over 10 years. Son of the late Antonio and Domenica "Mamie" Giacona Vinti. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St. Jane deChantal Catholic Church, Abita Springs, on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at 12:00 noon.
