Michael David ÒMickeyÓ McGill, Sr., age 64 of Abita Springs, LA passed away on 
Monday, April 07, 2014, at his residence after a brief battle with cancer.

Michael was born January 25, 1950 at Baptist Hospital in New Orleans, LA and 
was raised in Waveland, MS. 

He was preceded in death by his mother: Marie Evelyn Turcotte and two 
granddaughters: Justine Marie and Dorian Chastain Hooper.

Michael is survived by his Wife of 41 years, Janine S. McGill, Daughters: Lisa 
McGill Lafontaine  (Michael), Michelle McGill Edwards (Ray), Sons: Rory Luke 
Chappelle (Sara), Michael David McGill, Jr. (Stacey), and 16 Grandchildren: 
Dustin, Braxton, Marina, Joshua, Jordan, Mikki, Kyle, Keegan, Ashleigh, Taylor, 
Trenton, Trever, Amelia, Allison, Abbey, Ava and two Great-grandchildren: 
Kamryn and Madelynn.

Michael graduated from Bay High School in Waveland, MS, worked for Cain 
Construction as a Master Craftsman.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at 11:00 AM on 
Thursday, April 10, 2014 at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st Avenue 
Covington, LA 70433. Visitation on Thursday, April 10, 2014 from 10:00 AM until 
service time.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Cancer Society, 2605 
River Road, New Orleans, LA
