Maria (Mary) Moore passed away peacefully at home in Slidell Tuesday morning, 
April 29, 2014 with her husband Joe and daughter Erin at her side. 

Mary was born in Tela, Honduras to Willis and Esther Walton, and later moved to 
New Orleans, where she met a dashing U.S. Navy sailor, Joe Moore, whom she 
married in 1955. She listened to music and danced almost every day of her life. 
Mary enjoyed a host of friends, many of whom she'd known for decades. A devout 
Roman Catholic, she found great solace in her faith.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents and her daughter Carol Smith. She is 
survived by her loving husband , Joe W. Moore of Slidell, her daughter Erin M. 
Moore and partner Patti Fink of Dallas, Texas, and brothers Willis Walton and 
William Walton, and half-brother Ike Walton. "Tita" is also survived by 
granddaughters Lesley Marozas of Houston, Texas, and Kendall Smith of Port 
Arthur, Texas, as well as great-grandchildren Mia and Sophie Garcia, and newly-
arrived Holton Carter Phillips.

A memorial will be at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Slidell on Tuesday, 
May 6, 2014, at 10:00am. 

A private burial was held at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
