Clinton J. Romig passed away on April 30, 2014. 

He is survived by the love of his life, Dorothy Gorrondona Romig, his wife of 
66 years and his six sons, Michael (Cindy), Stephen (Keenan), Clinton James, 
Jr. (Karen), Thomas (Teresa) Christopher (Mary Kay) and Gregory (Angele). Clint 
is survived by his grandchildren Stephanie, Todd, Natalie, Brad, Jeff, Eric, 
Clinton James III, Brittany, Joshua, Jennifer, Christopher, Jr., Meagan, 
Hannah, Dreda and Clark as well as numerous great grandchildren. He is also 
survived by his bother Jerry and his sister Mary.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clinton C. Romig and Hyacinth McCabe 
Romig, and his brothers, Ralph, John and Billy.

Clint served in the Pacific Theater in WW II in the U.S. Coast Guard and after 
the war joined in founding with fellow veterans from his neighborhood, WeDK, a 
social and athletic club he was active in for 20 years. He was an avid golfer 
belonging to both Timberlane Country Club, where he was a past president, and 
Beau Chene Country Club. There was always a song in his heart and he treasured 
any venue with which to sing, from his time as a Barber shopper to his devotion 
to St. DominicÕs church choir. He was a man of great faith and a contributor to 
his community. Following his retirement he served for many years as President 
of the Thomas L. Young Auxiliary, a volunteer organization of the Southeast 
Louisiana Hospital in Mandeville. He also served Mary Queen of Peace Church as 
both a lector and Eucharistic Minister.

Clint was a Certified Public Accountant and was a founding partner of the firm, 
LaPorte, Sehrt, Romig & Hand where he was Managing Partner. He served as 
President of the Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants and was 
awarded the prestigious ÒLifetime Membership AwardÓ in 2003. He served as a 
member of the Council of the American Institute of Certified Public 
Accountants, as Chairman of the National Council of CPA Practitioners and as 
Chairman of the AICPAÕs Peer Review Committee.

Clint was a husband, father, mentor and friend. He loved God, his family and a 
well-made cocktail. He will be missed greatly by all that he influenced.

Visitation will be on Saturday, May 3, 2014 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Mary 
Queen of Peace Church, 1501 West Causeway Approach, Mandeville, LA 70471. A 
funeral mass will follow visitation at 1:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers please remember Clint with a donation to St. MichaelÕs 
Special School, 1522 Chippewa St., New Orleans, LA 70130.

ClintÕs family is deeply appreciative of the tender care extended by the staff 
of Passages Hospice & The Sanctuary.
