MARY ELLEN NUNEZ STROUD, age 76, a native and lifelong resident of Bayou 
Liberty in Slidell, LA, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2014.

Beloved wife for the past 53 years to the love of her life, Frederick John 
Stroud.
Daughter of the late Milton E. ÒHoneyÓ Nunez, Sr. and Helen Smith Nunez Pichon.
Step daughter of the late Joseph August Pichon and Mildred Swann Nunez McGaha. 
Daughter in law of the late Inez Boudreaux Stroud Kister and George J. Kister.

She leaves behind two children, John Eugene Stroud and Dana Phyllis Stroud 
Garlick(Robbie).

Also survived by 5 grandchildren, whom she adored, Mark John Davis(Alexis), 
Austin-Reed Davis, Jena Marie Blackwell, Haleigh Lynn Garlick and Harley 
Danielle Garlick, her brothers, Milton E. ÒGeneÓ Nunez, Jr.(Carra), of Pearl 
River, Edward L. ÒJoeÓ Nunez of Little Rock, Ark., Gene Swann(Mary) of Pearl 
River and Gary C. Nunez, Sr.(Phyllis) of Pearl River, her step-father, Edward 
L. ÒMackÓ McGaha, her sister in law, Patricia Rost(Emmett), her longtime dear 
friend, Mary Patton and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral
Service at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME,
1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), Slidell, LA
on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 1:00 P.M.

Interment in FOREST LAWN CEMETERY.

Visitation on Tuesday after 11:00 A.M. until funeral time.
