He was born on June 7,1942 in Baltimore, Maryland to Raymond and Frances (Wood) Wagner. Dave grew up in Glen Burnie, Maryland and graduated from Glen Burnie High School in 1960. After high school he attended college at the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland where he earned a bachelorŐs degree in civil engineering. He began his career working for the Maryland State Roads Commission in Baltimore, Maryland as a professional registered engineer. Throughout his extensive professional career, he worked as senior transportation advisor for the City of Baltimore, Director of the Baltimore Mass Transit Administration, Deputy Secretary of Transportation for the state of Maryland, Director of the Port of Baltimore, and Chief Operating Officer for the Port of New Orleans. He retired in 2006. Dave married Nancy Patrick in 1965 in Glen Burnie, Maryland. They were happily married for 49 years. Dave was preceded in death by his parents Frances and Raymond Wagner and his brother Michael Wagner. Dave is survived by his spouse Nancy of Mandeville, Louisiana; his sons Jeffrey (Michelle) of Atlanta, Georgia and Eric (Dawn) of Owings Mills, Maryland; his brother Larry Wagner of Pasadena, Maryland; and his grandchildren Megan and Taylor. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to celebrate DavidŐs life on Monday, April 14, 2014 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 at 2:00 PM with a gathering on Monday beginning at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in memory of Mr. Wagner to be made to Covington Food Bank (Covington, Louisiana) and St Tammany Parish Hospital Foundation ===================
