Robert Frank Beter passed away on Monday, May 12, 2014 in Mandeville, LA at the 
age of 65. 
He was born on June 5, 1948 in New Orleans, LA to the late Joseph Henry and 
Winifred Pretty Beter.

In 1969, Bob married Gwen Batty Beter and together they had two children, Jason 
B. Beter and Erica B. Arey (Curt). 
He will be dearly missed by three grandchildren, Marigny Beter, Cameron Beter, 
and Wyatt Arey. Bob was the brother of Ricky Beter (Liz), Brian Beter (Ann), 
Lesley Beter (Sheldon Fleming) and, the late David Beter (survived by his wife, 
Betty).

Bob retired as a social worker after over 25 years of dedicated service helping 
others. He served as a member of the United States Air Force during the Vietnam 
War. Bob loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed 
fishing, gardening and reading.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Service 
on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, 
Covington, LA 70433 at 3:00 PM with visitation from 1:00 PM until service time. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in memory of Robert F. 
Beter be made to The Samaritan Center, Mandeville, LA, www.samcen.org and The 
Covington Food Bank, Covington, LA, www.covingtonfoodbank.org.
