Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/sttammany/obits/dateobits/2014/st1405.htm and click to view list of photos. ========== Colonel (Retired) Adolph Henry Ernst, Jr., of Lacombe, Louisiana passed away on May 26, 2014 surrounded by loving family at the Louisiana Heart Hospital. He was born June 17, 1932 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Adolph Henry Ernst, Sr. and Amelda Rose Manzella. He graduated from St. PaulŐs High School in Covington, LA in 1951 and received a Bachelor of Science from Loyola University in New Orleans, LA in 1955. After graduating, he attended his officer basic course then returned to New Orleans to join the family business, Ernst Food Mart in 1955. He departed in 1975 to pursue an active military career, retired from the Army in 1986, and returned to Louisiana in 1995. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Brucena Lavon Ernst; his six children from a previous marriage Adolph III (Irina), John (late Karen), David (Katie), Esther Ernst Warden, Mark (Darlene), and Paul (Lisa); 14 grandchildren Mary Ann Kelley (Robert), Eric, Matthew (Raevon), David Jr, Nicki Ernst Butler (John David), Kyle, Shay, Leslie, Mark Jr, Jennifer, Nicholas, Paul Jr, Sarah, and Elizabeth; and four great-grandchildren Maximus, Eric, Tristan, and Summer. He is also survived by his brothers Lawrence (Shelly), Weldon (Deborah Ann), Robert (Kathy), and Carl (Linda). Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation starting at 10:00AM followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00AM on Friday, May 30, 2014 at Mary Queen of Peace Church, 1501 West Causeway Approach, Mandeville, LA. The entombment will be held at Metairie Cemetery in New Orleans, LA at 1:00PM. Expressions of condolence may be offered through donations to St. Jude ChildrenŐs Research Hospital and are preferred in lieu of flowers. ===================
