Derek ÔBig DÕ Gardner Fasic, age 60, died unexpectedly in Abita Springs on 
Monday, May 26, 2014. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Suzanne Crochet Fasic, his three 
girls Lauren Fasic, Melissa Fasic and Lindsay Fasic (fiancŽ Coltin Calloway) 
and granddaughter Kayleigh Hattaway. He is also survived by his mother, Bobbie 
Heuer Fasic, father Arthur Reid Fasic (predeceased), and siblings Deborah Hook, 
Wendyl Fasic Matute and Brandyn Fasic. 

Derek will be remembered by many close family members and cherished friends. 
Derek was born in New Orleans on September 7, 1953 and spent most of his life 
living and working in the New Orleans area. For the past 17 years, Derek lived 
with his family in Abita Springs, LA where he was a member of the Knights of 
Columbus Council 12529. 
Derek will be remembered as a loving husband, outstanding father and a faithful 
friend to many. Derek had a genuine heart, and his humorous stories will live 
on. Derek loved to cook, fish and spend time with the people he loved. He was 
hard-working and would lend a hand to any of his friends. 

Relatives, friends and co-workers (former and present) of Hood Northlake 
Chevrolet of Covington, Industrial Welding Supply, Greiner, Brown & Root and 
The Times Picayune are invited to attend a funeral and mass at St. Anselm 
Catholic Church at 306 St. Mary Street in Madisonville, LA on Friday May 30, 
2014 at 11:00 am with visitation at 9:30 am. 

Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery in Covington, LA. 

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Anselm Catholic Church.
