He was born on August 25, 1936 in Baton Rouge, LA to Paul Elijah and Claudia Netterville Greer and was currently residing in Carriere, MS. The beloved husband of the late Wanda "Jane" Strickland Greer, he is survived by three daughters - Toni Greer Pete (Roland Draughon III), Lisa Greer Ruel and Lorie K. Greer (John S. Masson); his son-in-law - J. Scott Ruel; three brothers - Thomas B., J.O. "Duck" and John M. Greer; one sister - Mary Greer Persick; six grandchildren - Tori M. Allain, Joshua Paul Greer, Katie R. and Julie M. Pete, Landon S. and Alyssa C. Ruel and his great granddaughter - Rylee R. Martin. Beloved companion of Billie Crochet. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son - Marcel P. Greer and one brother - W. "LaRue" Greer; and his son-in-law, Stuart C. Pete. He was truly a MAN from that "greatest generation". A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a leader and mentor to the family he so treasured, loved the outdoors and was a loyal LSU and Saints fan. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral services at 3:00 PM on Monday, May 12, 2014 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave. Covington, LA 70433. Visiting hours will begin Monday at 1:00 PM. Private interment services at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Covington, LA will take place at a later date.
