Died on May 7, 2014 at the age of 72. Married on Oct. 6, 1961 to Geoffrey Neumann Harms. Two children, David Carl (wife-Alisha), and Michael Alan Harms (wife Mary) blessed with two grandchildren, Ava Lynn, and Mordecai Marshall. Two sisters, Debra Guthans and Cheryl Romeo. She was preceded in death by her mother, Loyce May Esteves and brother, Earl Sebastian Esteves. Brenda attended Chalmette and graduated as valedictorian in 1959. She attended LSUBR for two years and in later years earned several associate degrees from St Bernard Community College, Delgado and LSUNO. She worked for Ma Bell for quite a few years as a design engineer in Baton Rouge and Boston, Mass. She worked as a personal assistant for the city manager in Giddings, Texas. She worked at the Chrysler Michoud making electrical cables for NASA Space Program. She spent her later working life working for Inferno incinerators in the office. Brenda and family moved to Abita Springs after Katrina, losing the family house in Chalmette. Brenda spent her spare time in crafts. Spinning, weaving and basket making. She was a long time member of the New Orleans Weavers Guild. Brenda loved God with all her heart and raised her children to fear and love God. She was brought up in the Methodist Church, and in the eighth grade was confirmed into the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod and during her lifetime attended Christ Lutheran Church in Arabi and later in Chalmette, First English Lutheran Church in New Orleans, and finally was attending Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and School in Covington. Brenda has requested that in lieu of flowers that a Memorial donation to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Help Fund. Checks can be made out to the above. Though we will miss her, we rejoice with her now because we know she is now and forevermore with her Savior, Jesus Christ. Just one of BrendaÕs favorite Bible passages was, Revelation 2:10bÑÒ be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.Ó A memorial service, a celebration of her ÒNew LifeÓ with Christ, will be held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church on the corner of Hwy 21 and Marigold Street in Covington at 2:00 PM, Saturday May 17. Brenda was an organ and tissue donor and her eyes were harvested immediately after death. Her body will be cremated. ===================
