John James Morton, Sr. passed away on Friday, June 20, 2014 at the age of 94.

Beloved wife of 67 years to Helena Durapau Morton. Loving father of Gerard 
Morton, Jo Ann Lonergan (Nicholas III) and John Morton, Jr. (Leslie). Son of 
the late Ida Edwards Morton and William A. Morton. Brother of the late William 
Morton, Edward Morton, Joseph Morton and Gerald Morton. Grandfather of Nicholas 
Lonergan IV (Kim), Nicole Lonergan (Jake), Caroline Morton and Julia Morton. 
Great-grandfather of Nicholas Lonergan V, Colson Lonergan, Koryn Kennedy and 
Jake Kennedy.

Mr. Morton was a native of New Orleans and a resident of the northshore since 
Hurricane Katrina. He was a U.S. Army WW II veteran where he saw action in 
Ardennes, Rhineland, Central Europe and Northern France and was awarded the 
Purple Heart.

Relatives, friends and members of GlazierŐs Local 936 are invited to attend the 
Funeral Mass on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 
21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 at 11:00 AM with a visitation on Tuesday 
beginning at 9:00 AM.

Interment will follow in St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery #2 with military honors.
