Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/sttammany/obits/dateobits/2014/st1406.htm and click to view list of photos. ========== Woodrow "Woody Magee" Taylor, 74 of Covington, loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, dear friend and kindred spirit to many; passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2014 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. Born, October 20, 1939 in Franklinton, La. to the late Woodrow W. Magee and Marjorie Beard Magee Taylor. He was pre-deceased by his wife Ruby Joyce Terrell Taylor and his step-son Guy Galatas. Woody referred to himself as the Ôland manÕ selling land in Louisiana and Mississippi for over 40 years first for Bill Garrett Enterprises in Slidell and then for his uncle Leeke Magee of Magee Financial in Franklinton, La. first as Magee Team and then Glendale Properties. Prior to selling land, Woody attended Southeastern Louisiana University and also trained as a barber and carried his barber tools cutting his friends & familyÕs hair the entire remainder of his life. Woody loved connecting with people, selling properties at times to second and third generations of the same family. He truly loved spending time with his family and close friends and he will be sorely missed. He was an avid LSU and Saints football fan. He is survived by his brother Norris Forbis of Slidell and a sister Judy Taylor Abadie of Covington; his loving children including his son Woodrow Taylor, Jr, of Slidell, daughters Kristy Wylie of Abita Springs, and daughter Casey and husband Trae Goelz of Slidell. Loving ÔPawpawÕ to his 8 grandchildren Woodrow Taylor III, Jacob Taylor, Kristina Taylor, Stephanie Doss, John Doss, Jeffery Wylie, Jessica Wylie, Meygan Goelz, and Brittany Galatas. He was affectionately referred to as ÔPawpawÕ by many others he adopted by love as well. He is also survived by 7 great grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at Honaker Funeral Home 1751 Gause Blvd W, Slidell, LA. Visitation will be Saturday June 21st from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. The family wishes to express their sincerest gratitude for the excellent care provided by Acadian Ambulance Service and especially to the compassionate ER and ICU staff at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. ===================
