Donald Edward Lapara Jr. passed away Thursday July 10, 2014 at the age of 59.

A native of New Orleans, LA  and  a resident of Slidell, LA. Son of the late 
Donald Edward Lapara Sr.; survived by his loving mother, Gail Weixel Lapara, 
sisters Kim David and Monique Hibbs, neice Lauren David Hesse, and nephew 
Alexander Hibbs. Also survived by his Uncle Laurence A. Weixel, Jr. and his 
beloved life-long friend, David Thibodeaux. 

Donald is nephew of the late Shirley Jorgensen, John S. Lapara, Jr. and 
Mercedes Andry. 

Donald worked with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff office for over 25 years, and 
worked as Advocate Director for the Paralyzed Veterans Association for may 
years.  
He was an avid archer and won the Gold and Silver medals in archery while 
competing in the Special Olympics. 

In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to Angels Touching Lives(orphanage), 
www.angelstouchinglives.org.

Family and friends are invited to attend the memorial service Saturday July 19, 
2014 at 1:00 pm at the Chapel in the Pines, 41 Mississippi Pines Road, Picayune 
Ms. 39466. Visitation will begin at noon.
