LOPER, JAMES THOMAS SR.
July 31 1939 - July 6, 2014

James Thomas Loper Sr. was the beloved husband to his wife of 54 years, 
Catherine Jane Loper. He is survived by five loving children Debra Ross 
(Bobby), James Loper Jr. (Susan), Daniel Loper (Marie), Cheryl Harrison (John), 
and Jennifer Oakes (Shane). He is preceded in death by his mother Effe Lee 
Holifield, his father Henry Allen Loper, and 2 grandchildren. He leaves behind 
10 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. He is also survived by 4 
siblings.

James worked for the state of LA in the Forestry division as a Fire Fighter for 
30 years and was happily retired. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed being 
out on the open water in his boat. He also enjoyed building cars for dirt track 
racing and gardening. 

James was devoted to his family. He has special relationships with each and 
every one of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was loved 
by family and many friends. He will be greatly missed by all who have been 
touched by his generosity, love, and kindness. 

In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make donations to the American Lung 
Cancer Society P.O. Box 22718 Oklahoma City, Ok 73123-1718.

The Family would like to thank Lakeshore Hospice for the care they provided.
Visitation will be held on Friday July 11, 2014 from 1 - 5 pm from the chapel 
of D.T. Williams Funeral Home 67525 Hwy 41 Pearl River, LA 70452.

Following the visitation the family will be hosting a Celebration of Life for 
Mr. Loper at his daughter CherylÕs House.
