JOYCE SEYMOUR, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at home 
surrounded by her family. 
She was 85. 

Joy was born in New Orleans, LA to John D. Duffy and Marie Abele. Joy was 
married 64 years to Walter Murray Seymour who passed away in 2011. 
She has two children: Gary Michael Seymour and wife Debbie and Darlene Ann 
Rudiger; three grandchildren: James Duffy Seymour; Thomas Fletcher Seymour; 
Vittoria Maria Merry and husband David; great grandchildren: Kaya Trinity Merry 
and Olivia Reese Merry. 
Joy has one sister, Barbara Duffy. 

Joy graduated from McMain High School in New Orleans and was married to Walter 
in 1947. They lived in New Orleans until 1958 when they moved to Slidell. Joy 
worked in the lunch room at Abney Elementary School from 1964 to 1974. She was 
a member of the Bayou Liberty Garden Club and the Ozone Homemakers for many 
years.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral
Services at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN 
CEMETERY), Slidell, LA on Monday, July 21, 2014 at 11:00 A.M.

Interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery in New Orleans, LA.

Visitation on Monday, July 21, 2014 from 9:00 A.M. until funeral time.
