Beloved son of Virginia ÒJeanneÓ Brooks Smith and the late Macks ÒRandyÓ Smith. Grandson of John Alma Brooks and the late Hugh Brooks Sr., the late Charles and Molly Smith. Also survived by an aunt, Teneilia B. Anderson(Don), an uncle, Hugh F. Brooks, numerous cousins, including Kim Parker Grubbs(Kerry) and Amanda Brooks Hindson(Jon). He was a 2003 graduate of Northshore High School, and received an undergraduate degree and graduate degree in Political Science and Applied Sociology from Southeastern La. University. He was a member of Grace Memorial Baptist Church, Jacques de Molay Lodge #389 , Shriners International and Past Worshipful Master of Bayou Lacombe Lodge #459. Jordan was given a special gift of touching lives and making the world a better place. A city boy who became a park ranger, Jordan read, researched and taught himself the skills he needed to share his wealth of knowledge. He was a true teacher at heart, creating and presenting programs to hundreds of children and adults, both in and out of the park. Jordan infectious smile lit up the room. From flintknapping to outdoor cooking, JordanÕs creative spirit brought his stories and programs to life. He was a hunter education instructor, boating safety education instructor and held certifications in multiple disciplines. Jordan was passionate about injustice and speaking for those who could not speak for themselves. With no regard for himself, Jordan was the protectorÑthe ÒrighterÓ of wrongs and was loved by everybody who knew him. The family wishes to thank the members of Grace Memorial Baptist Church, Marshall Pierre and the many friends who have supported us in this time. We are heartbroken that Jordan is no longer with us, but rest in the promise that we will be reunited in Heaven. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Masonic Services at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), Slidell, LA on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at 10:45 A.M., ,Followed by Funeral Services at 11:00 a.m. Interment in FOREST LAWN CEMETERY.
